Common symptoms include a vehicle that sits unevenly, a warning light on startup, or a compressor that runs continuously without achieving the correct height. ⚠️ 48V Mild Hybrid System Faults (S580/GLS600)
Maybach's EQ Boost mild hybrid system uses a 48V belt-starter-generator to provide additional torque and enable sailing (engine off) at low speeds. In UAE heat, the 48V lithium-ion battery degrades faster than in European conditions. Fault symptoms include reduced EQ Boost availability, a charging warning, or the BSG fault light. Maybach's camera-based suspension systems read the road surface and pre-emptively adjust damping before the wheel reaches an irregularity. ⚠️ Cooling System on M176/M177 V8 Biturbo
The M176 (4.0L) and M177 (AMG-tuned) V8 biturbo engines fitted to GLS Maybach 600 and S580 generate significant heat. In Dubai's stop-start traffic at 45°C ambient, the cooling system's plastic expansion tank and coolant hoses are subject to pressure fatigue. Coolant leaks at the expansion tank, thermostat housing and intercooler water pump are the most common findings. Early inspection prevents more serious overheating events.
